Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actress. She also sings. When she was a kid she was subjected to racial taunts by American citizens of all races. After she participated in school contests and received great praise for her performance when she was in the ninth grade, the girl began to grow more confident. Not only did it boost her confidence but her ambitions were changed. In 1992, she earned her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23, her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail, were her biggest breakthroughs. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as critical praise. Her fame grew for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Also, she is a well-known singer and has published an extended version of her play. In addition, she's an activist who works hard in the fight for LGBT rights.
